The National Textile Center

The National Textile Center (NTC) is a research consortium of six universities:  Auburn University, Clemson University, Georgia Institute of Technology, North Carolina State University, UMass - Dartmouth, Cornell University and Philadelphia University.  The institutions share human resources, equipment and facilities.  Serving the USA Fiber/Textile/Fabricated Products/Retail Complex, the NTC vision, mission and goals are realized through innovate research and links to other institutions.

MISSION:

To enhance the knowledge base that drives the momentum of U.S. industry competitiveness.

GOALS:

1. Research: To discover, design and develop new materials, innovative and improved manufacturing and integrated systems essential to the success of a modern U.S. textile enterprise.

2. Education: To train personnel, establish industrial partnerships and create transfer mechanisms to ensure the utilization of technologies developed.

3. Partnership:  To strengthen the nation's textile research and educational efforts by uniting diverse experts and resources in unique collaborative projects.

VISION:

To be an agent leading change in the industry's vision and in education for global competitiveness.
