Aly H. M. El-Shiekh, a Professor of Textile Engineering, Chemistry and Science at NC State, joined the faculty in 1968. He received a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from M.I.T. in 1965. Aly's research interests include mechanics of textile structures, processing dynamics, automation and the manufacturing of textile preforms for composites.
