A. S. Abhiraman is a professor and Director of the Polymer Education & Research Center at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Dr. Abhiraman teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in Polymer Science and Engineering. His research group has made pioneering contributions to crystallization in anisotropic polymer systems, developed a general framework for the evolution of structu ral order in fiber formation from polymer melts, identified a fundamental thermodynamic limit to recoverable work of deformation in crystalline materials, and developed solution-based mechanisms for versatile morphological generation in polymers.
